Max Dean seconded the motion. Vote and pass.
3 Will said that he plans to publish the January Newsletter within the next week. He asked for any information, anecdotes, trip reports or any articles of interest from the members to include. Cycles, they get their next year's dues paid.]

Our beloved President David Coles is home recovering from knee surgery. He'll

3 Results of final logo runoff vote:
The symbol of the BMW Riders of Mississippi is the State Outline.
The votes were counted December 29, 2002 by Pres David Coles and Sec Will David.
State Outline - 52% State Flag - 38% State Flower - 10%.
NEW BUSINESS:
1 March meeting in Meridian.
We are booked for 1:00 P.M., March 8, 2003 at Montana's Bar-B-Q & Seafood
Restaurant at 2106-A Front Street, Meridian, MS. Montana's is located just around
the corner from Weidmann's Restaurant....where we had the last Meridian meeting.
Plenty of parking.
April's meeting will be at our Dogwood Trail rally.
2 Club Logo items:
We are in communication with the BMW-USA asking for permission to use their
copyrighted Motoman on our logo. This will give us a symbol of the state with
a motorcyclist riding across it. Their permission is pending. Barry Cottrell
is looking for a supplier. Jim Dammon said that he will get us price quotes
from a military patch/pin manufacturer. We will do our best to have pins, patches
and logo T-shirts for our rally in April.
Frank Glamser suggested that we provide a free pin and/or patch to all club members, and a free pin and patch to all new club members. VP Snodgrass replied that it will depend on how much the pins & patches cost. We give rally pins to all attendees at the Dogwood, but that is paid for by their rally fees. We'll probably sell the pins and patches to members at cost.
3 Rally Field Events:
We would like to do something fun and interesting for our rally games this year.
Members made suggestions: Bryan Drake suggested a barrel wrap, as was done at
the Swamp Scooters' rally. Materials needed are a 55 gallon barrel and a length
of rope. The rider circles the barrel while the passenger wraps the barrel with
rope. The event ends when 1) the rope is all wrapped around the barrel, 2) the
rope touches the ground, 3) the rider/passenger put a foot down. If there is
no full wrap, the contestant with the least amount of unwrapped rope is the
winner. Barry Cottrell likes the slalom with tennis balls on top of the cones.
The passenger picks up tennis balls on the run outbound, and replaces them on
the run inbound.
4 Door Prizes & Vendors for Rally
Barry Cottrell reminded members to talk to vendors and start collecting door
prizes for the rally. If any vendors want to set up at our rally, have them
contact Rallymaster Duane Carpenter or Barry. We discussed a vendor fee of $100
cash or $100 value in merchandise for door prizes, but nothing was decided.
This is within the oversight of the Rallymaster.
5 Helen 2 Wheels Recovering:
Shane Smith talked to Helen last week. She's still recovering from her major
motorcycle accident, and is thinking about buying an RV that she can use as
a traveling store. We're hoping to see her - with or without an RV filled with
camping accessories - at the Dogwood Trail.
6 No Shane Smith Crawfish Boil This Year:
Shane and Sandy are taking a year off. Warm thanks to them both for hosting
us in McComb for so many years.
7 Cindy Earl Crashed:
Cindy went down in the curves of Red Bluff, north of Collins. Her injuries are
broken ribs and a damaged hand. She's recovering, but slowly. She totaled her
K12RS. We send her happy thoughts and our wishes for a speedy and full recovery.
8 Farewell to Bryan and Mel Drake:
In service to our nation, Bryan and Mel have been reassigned to Okinawa. They
are both Noncommissioned officers in the Air Force. Mel is a logistics NCO and
Bryan is a flightline NCO who services aircraft with fuel (Now you know where
he got the road name of FIREBALL!) Bryan's bike gets crated for shipment on
Monday, January 20th. Godspeed, friends.
There being no further business, Lloyd Rauschkolb made the motion to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Max Dean. Voted and passed.
Vice-President Snodgrass adjourned the meeting at 2:07 PM.
Respectfully submitted;
Will David, Secretary
